At the end of the day, all we have is stories.

YOU KNOW WHAT I’VE ALWAYS FOUND ODD?

The fact that people invest in a wedding photographer to only capture the “best” day of their lives.

Now, I don’t know about you but in this crazy, epic thing called life, my wedding day was just ONE of many highlights.

The birth of my littles, the various milestones they’ve experienced and the beautiful ways in which we’ve all grown into the ever-changing unit of us have been chock-a-block filled with memories and moments that I hold just as near and dear to my heart as my wedding day.

We invest in capturing our first love stories but then tend to forget the absolute importance of capturing the other loves in our life as time moves on.

WOULD YOU LOVE A TIME CAPSULE TO LOOK BACK ON?

Or do you maybe want one but you’re petrified that I’m going to put your baby in a bucket? ;)

Do not fear — that’s where me and my photojournalist heart joins forces…

My biggest inspiration and guide when I do lifestyle sessions, whether it be maternity, newborn, or family, is to capture the magic in the mundane. If that means…

  • baking cookies in a messy kitchen

  • consoling a crying baby

  • or peeling the 3918th banana of the day for your little

… I am HERE for it. I want to capture you in a non-awkward, authentic way.

Our stories only become more important, more intricate and even worthier of being told as our little tribes grow.

The littles grow up and life goes so fast and we sometimes wish we could just press pause. The magic of photos is that it enables us to freeze these moments in time. The good, the bad and the messy.

After having kids of my own the meaning of photos completely changed for me. Never before has documenting things become so beautiful and so necessary. My greatest goal is to produce a time capsule for you to look back on, something tangible to show “this was what our life looked like at this point in time”.

This is also why my heart has a special place for sessions in your home (by the way, the “non-pinterest worthy” ones are my fave). Getting to observe a snippet of your life and creating heirloom images that honour the beautiful chaos of your current story.

I promise this won’t be a white shirt, blue jeans, standing on a train-track kind of day. I am all about being in a space you love, doing an activity you adore, and capturing what comes naturally to you. It has to feel like you.

Time stands still for no one and life is too short (and beautiful) to not have something to remember it all by, so let me tell your epic story.

From engagement to wedding and now annual family shoots (4 years in a row) for our kid’s birthdays, the experience has been epic - every.single.time.

Would not even consider another photographer... ever.

How does it work?

STEP ONE

Send me a message via email or slide into my DMs and we ‘ll decide on a date. A 50% deposit secures your booking.

STEP TWO

We’ll spend an hour together, capturing the crazy, possibly chaotic but most definitely magical story of you.

STEP THREE

Sit back and relax, within 4 weeks you’ll have an epic heirloom and your tribe will love you for it.

My own little tribe and the reason I love doing this so much.

Albums

Some of my favourite memories as a child was flipping through the (seemingly endless) stacks of photo albums that my parents had.

Nothing says heirloom quite as much as a beautifully printed album. Living in an age where most photos live online, there is something quite magical to holding your favourite moments, printed in your hand. A capsule for your littles to look at over and over again.

Choose between a smooth or textured linen cover in two different sizes. If you want something small and sweet I also do 15cmx15cm photo books that include 24 of the best images. Perfect to stack on a bookshelf or gift the grandparents.

 What the FAQ?

  • Maternity is typically between 28-36 weeks. We want a bump, but also want momma to not be too uncomfortable. Newborn shoots are typically within the first 4 weeks of baby’s life. I always leave some flexibility in my schedule in case baby comes sooner or later.

  • Once your session is booked, I’ll send over some inspiration in the wardrobe department, but the biggest rule of thumb is that you should look and feel comfortable.

  • I love at-home sessions, but it’s also beautiful shooting outside or somewhere that has significance for you. As soon as the session is booked we can brainstorm about the perfect location for your story.

  • I’ll let you in on a little secret, the imperfect homes are actually my favourite, so please don’t let this deter you! Your home is uniquely yours and is part of the story that only you can tell, if there’s light and loads of love it is perfect, promise.

  • Nope, that style of newborn photography doesn’t fit into my documentary storytelling approach. If you have a sentimental item or a cute outfit for baba I would love to incorporate it, but I prefer focusing on the moments and the people.

  • Tiny humans tend to be happiest in the morning when they’re well-rested so, especially for at-home shoots, that usually works well. When it comes to outdoor shoots late afternoon light is my fave, so if our session is outside and your little ones allow it, my ideal time is an hour before sunset.

  • We all know their wills and personalities are much larger than their bodies ;) Having two of my own I have all the understanding and patience in the world. If they’re having a tricky day I don’t mind extending the session (cost-free) a bit until I’m happy with the number of images I get, but I’ve never walked away from a session without shots that make my heart happy. I actually love it when there are some images that show all the different moods - remember that photo-journalistic approach I was talking about?
